The Crown to turn into Beef and Pudding dining pub

14 January 2014

Manchester's financial quarter looks set to have a new addition this Spring, with dining pub entrepreneurs David Mooney and Paul Newman lined up to relaunched The Crown. Menus are being developed right now, but with former Parlour chef Nic Duncan, in charge of development, exceptional roasts, and well sourced British pub food (stews, Ploughmans and more) are likely to feature alongside the best regional ales and easy drinking wines.

David Mooney is a bit of a face about town. Co-owner and Chef Patron of The New Moon Pub Company (who operate four pubs in the North West), he's also a TV face having been the presenter of regional food show, Food Hunter, and a regular guest on the Hairy Bikers show. Taste hears that there will be another new opening very close by soon (more details shortly), so this part of town could be set for a another renaissance after the boom of Rosso, Room and Jamie's Italian. The city centre's still got it, it seems.

Beef and Pudding will open on the site of The Crown (89 Fountain Street, M2 2EF) in Spring 2014.
