Steve Pilling (pictured) and Simon Stanley are set to expand their MediaCityUK Operation with The Dock Yard. The team behind the multi-award winning Damson Restaurant brand, and the acclaimed Red Lion gourmet pub in Stockport, is set to expand with a second MediaCityUK site, scheduled to open in late October 2013.
Having opened Damson in 2009 the team went on to launch Damson MediaCityUK in February 2013. Now Steve and Simon have their sights set on providing pub for MediaCityUK. The Dock Yard will serve keg and cask ales, pales ales, beers and ciders, as well as choices from a wine list hand picked by aficionado Steve.
The menu is set to include spit roast free range chicken, handmade pies and handmade burgers by Mark Stanley, the companys full-time butcher. The site will be open for breakfast too, serving fresh juices and artisan breads in the morning.
A relaxed and informal vibe is the plan, with a lively atmosphere after work. Decor-wise, the industrial-chic interior has been designed by Don Hobson, taking inspiration from the venue's heritage as a key trading site on the shore of the ship canal - with a fit out by restaurant specialists Dawn Vale.
