The team behind the multi-award winning Damson Restaurant brand, and the acclaimed Red Lion in Stockport have today officially expanded their MediaCityUK food and beverage portfolio with the sites very first pub - The Dockyard.
Steve Pilling and Simon Stanley opened Damson in 2009 and quickly established an enviable reputation for delivering fine food, drink and service. The pair went on to open Damson MediaCityUK in February 2013, receiving an outstanding reception from customers and the media alike.
Now Steve and Simon have opened The Dockyard - an independent, neighbourhood pub for the MediaCityUK community and beyond.
Expected to be a favourite with the BBC, it seemed only fitting that next door neighbour to the pub, and esteemed writer and broadcaster, Stuart Maconie did the honours of officially opening The Dockyard and pulling the first pint!
Like any local boozer, the pub will lead with the drinks offering, serving an excellent array of keg and cask ales, pale ales, beers and ciders, as well as a cracking wine list curated by wine expert Steve Pilling himself. Fine wine will be served in carafes at great prices, as well as by the bottle from their award-winning cellar.
The Dockyard is a freehouse and will serve a constantly changing range of guest ales from local brewers and microbrewers (sometimes from as close as 10 miles away!).
Food will be typically high quality with Simon and Steves expertise adapted for the more rustic setting of their new pub operation.
The Dockyard will be open right through from breakfast, when local workers can pick up a bacon butty, porridge, bloomers or drop in for beans on toast.
The main food menu has been put together by Simon Stanley to bring together his knowledge of great food and expert sourcing for dishes suitable for a pub setting. Hence butties, burgers, pies and soups are the order of the day!
The environment, inspired by the industrial heritage of the site, will be relaxed and informal, with a lively atmosphere providing a home from home for the workers, residents and visitors... all day long.

7.30am - 11pm Monday - Thurs
7.30am - midnight Friday.
9am - midnight Saturday
9am - 10.30pm Sunday.
