The Former Sale Food Hall Space Receives a New Line Up Of Traders

23 May 2023 by Sam Easton

Unfortunately, we were struck with the devastating news earlier this year that Sale Food Hall would be closing down, this was of course a huge blow not only to the community in Sale but for food lovers across Manchester. Although the food hall will be missed, a phoenix is emerging from it’s ashes with three new traders taking its place and hopefully continuing its legacy.

The first of the three exciting, new additions are Canteena Bar And Grill, best known for their specialty Irish Dexter and Brazilian Steaks, this Bar and grill are planning to split their new venue in two. One half is intended to be a dedicated bar area while the other area will primarily be for dining.

The space itself is on the larger side (space for around 30) so they’ll be aiming to host special ticketed events when and where they can.

Owners Daniel & Lisa had this to say about the new launch: “We love Sale and its community and wanted to make sure everyone can enjoy the incredible food and new cosy, contemporary feel at Canteena. We have worked hard to cover every price range when it comes to the menu.

Next up on our list of newcomers we have Chorlton favourites, Oyster Catcher, who will be bringing their highly regarded seafood to Sale which will now be their second venue. The Seafood connoisseurs have been one of Greater Manchester’s go to spots for all things seafood, so this is a huge addition to Sales dining scene.

Duncan Ranyard, owner of the Oyster Catcher stated: “Our restaurant in Chorlton has proved  very popular over the last five years, with lots of guests travelling from Sale and further afield to dine with us. We have loved sharing our offering with the people of Chorlton and when we were asked to become part of the exciting new development in Stanley Square we jumped at the chance.”

Last but not least we have Pray Tell who will be joining the others in place of the draft bar, serving craft beers, natural wines as well as cocktails.
