THE River Bar & Grill at The Lowry Hotel is offering a fantastic bargain Chef’s Grill Menu which is constantly evolving around the best-sourced British produce. 

Enjoy a three course meal for only £19.95 per person for lunch, while at dinner the same menu is available at £24.95 with the addition of a glass of Prosecco or selected wine throughout November. The offer is available everyday for lunch and dinner except Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch.

Starters might include spiced pumpkin veloute, marbled game terrine with apricots and pistachios or mussels in Madera and chorizo cream. Mains could be venison casserole with horseradish dumplings, grilled pollock, red wine braised squid and parsley cream or shallot and thyme crusted polenta with artichokes and salsify. To follow perhaps – blackcurrant and chocolate pave, green apple compote and sorbet, Cape brandy pudding, orange sauce and vanilla ice cream or a selection of Farmhouse Cheese with seasonal chutney and biscuits.

If a classic Afternoon Tea is more your bag look no further than The River Bar and Restaurant. It It is 'Highly Recommended' by the British Tea Guild and is available every day, 2.15-4pm (Sat 12pm-4pm, Sun 3.15-5pm) for £22.50 per person. For that you get sandwiches and wraps featuring honey-roasted ham and minted pea puree; cucumber with hummus; autumn fruit chutney with Emmenthal; tuna crunch and sweet pickle. The cakes and pastries are equally delectable – chocolate lime tart, pear parkin with cinnamon icing; red velvet cupcake and cream cheese frosting. Plus, of course, home0made scones with clotted cream and jam.

For £33 a head there’s also the decadent Champagne Afternoon Tea, which adds on a glass of Billecart Salmon NV champagne.
