From Vrev to VNAM, the Northern Quarter is gaining an incredibly exciting new addition this month and we’re absolutely thrilled.
Having spent the last 12 years on Oldham Road, Ancoats staple VNAM will be taking over the old Vrev site on Edge Street mid to late January. They’ll be bolstering the already strong line up that Edge Street has to offer in their new location, sat snugly between Ad Hoc Wines & Luck, Lust, Liquor & Burn.
Whilst Vietnamese food is nothing new to the Manchester food scene, VNAM’s steaming bowls of traditional Pho, sumptuous Summer Rolls and Vietnamese drip coffee (has to be with condensed milk right?) are a welcome addition in a far more central location. Unfortunately, their previous Oldham Street dwelling was slightly out of the way but that’s all changing. With all of this change one question looms, will the menu be affected? Well, no actually, they plan to keep the menu more or less the same however those with a sweet tooth can rejoice as they do plan to have desserts make a return.
Dissimilar to the café setting, their new place will no longer work on a BYOB basis and will instead come complete with a bar stocked with a range of East & South East Asian beers such as Tsingtao, Hanoi and Saigon as well as serving a wide array of Vietnamese inspired cocktails.
One thing they are keeping their lips firmly sealed on is the décor & furnishings inside, although it’s looking likely that it’ll have a classic Vietnamese feel with a modern spin.
When the dust settles on the move, one thing’s for sure, the northern quarter will have added another heavyweight to its roster.
Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on their socials to stay up to date.
