With many people deciding not to go abroad this year, Aperol, the Italian Aperitivo, has decided to bring a taste of Italy to Manchester by opening its own picture-perfect Italian beach bar, The Aperol Spritz & Spiaggia.
The plan is to create an idyllic, holiday-like setting for visitors away from the hustle and bustle of Manchester’s urban jungle, making the ideal spot to reconnect with friends and family for an early-evening Aperitivo.
From Thursday 5th August, Manchester’s The Oast House is to become a Mediterranean-style escape to celebrate the summer sun (hopefully) in true Italian style. A white sandy beach setting will feature a stunning outdoor beach bar, with suitably instagrammable props including a jet ski and Fiat 500s in Aperol’s iconic orange. Visitors are invited to chill out in the relaxing cabana-style seating or take a seat at the bar swings for that ultimate holiday feeling.
The Aperol Spritz & Spiaggia will serve perfectly-poured Aperol Spritz along with a grazing selection of light bites. Plus, to kick-off the Aperitivo Hour every day, DJs will be on hand to provide good vibes and beach party tunes.
Aperol, an infusion of precious herbs and roots, was created in 1919 in Padua, as a lighter aperitif with an alcohol content of only 11%. Aperol has a unique bitter-sweet taste and a bright orange color deriving from a secret recipe that is guarded jealously and has remained unchanged over the course of time.
An Aperol Spritz, one of the most popular aperitifs in Italy, is made by mixing Aperol with Prosecco and a splash of soda in a wine glass full of ice and a slice of orange. Light, sparkling and refreshing, it’s the ideal drink for starting the evening and for any social occasion.
