The Oast House launches upstanding new summer street food menu

Hungry punters across the North have been heading over to The Oast House for their famous hanging kebabs for almost 10 years but scoring a table to sit and enjoy them can be challenging during the busy summer months.

To solve that problem The Oast House have launched a new street food menu which has been designed to be enjoyed with a drink without customers having to leave the courtyard.

The new menu, which has been inspired by the best street food around the world, is available from Thursday 12th August. The Oast House’s take on classic street eats includes Greek Gyros, Elote (loaded grilled corn from Mexico), and fries loaded with various toppings.

The chefs have been inspired by the French-Vietnamese hybrid sandwich Banh Mi to create their own version - a soft petit baguette filled with fresh pickled vegetables, roasted belly pork and zingy condiments. Looking closer to home, you’ll find grazing versions of the classic British fish and chips – complete with Manchester caviar (mushy peas) and gravy. There’s also an Italian take on a popular American dive-bar-snack - chicken wings marinated in Aperol.

Danny Leach, General Manager of The Oast House, said “We often see guests in our popular courtyard for drinks, but hanging kebabs were never designed to be standing kebabs! Guests already joining us for drinks can enjoy tasty food without having to leave our sun-trap courtyard.”

Starting at just £3.50 a dish, the street food menu will be served from The Oast House’s main kitchen on from 12th August for a limited-time only.
