The Parlour wins Best Sunday Lunch in the Observer Food Monthly awards

19 October 2012

Our favourite pubs in the suburbs has secured the national accolade of Best Sunday Lunch in the annual Observer Food Monthly Awards, which were held in London last night.

Know for fabulous roast dinners (so popular that many people have never have had the chance to try them), the Parlour is a deserving winner in this competitive category. We particular like the vegetarian offering of juicy, moreish nut loaf, with spice and onions, topped with a giant Yorkshire and honey-rich gravy.

The Castle group

The pub is part of the Castle and Eagle chain and is co-owned by Johnny Booth with Jamie and Goska Langrish who run the pub on a day-to-day basis.

Previously home to the Nose and a number of other operations, The Parlour has the proper pub with food formula down pat. There is a high quality wine list, including the kind of rich Malbecs and Riojas you want to enjoy with a slice of succulent sirloin, not to mention plenty of real ale, and a warm, wood-lined, baby and dog-friendly atmosphere. Booking is available on Sundays for parties of 6 or more.
