After teasing their opening in early December last year, eagerly anticipated cocktail Bar 97 Beech is finally here.
Aptly named as the bar itself is located on 97 beech road, the suave cocktail bar will be bring a sense of class and elegance to Chorlton’s ‘shabby chic’ Beech Road with a sophisticated drinks menu and a healthy dose of nostalgia.
Owner Nick De Sousa has teamed up with resident cocktail whiz and Chorlton local, Ellie Craddick, who will be acting as their general manager. Between Nicks experience and Ellies expertise & creativity, it’s clear to see that the bar is in very safe hands.
The menu contains 14 house classics as well as 11 signature specials so there’s plenty to choose from but 97 also has a unique way of presenting it’s cocktails too. By listing them in a range of ‘top trump’ cards, with each one displaying the drinks different attributes and ratings.

97’s owner Nick De Sousa was quoted to say “I have been part of the Beech Road community for more than 20 years and custodian of the Lead Station for the last 15. Chorlton is a special place with real authenticity and soul, which I’m really proud to be part of. We are hoping 97 will add something new and different to this scene.”
After a wait through the winter months the bar will finally be opening this Friday March 10th and will be operating between Wednesday to Sundays. Make sure to head down and give them a warm welcome.
