The bar team from NoMad London are taking over Sterling bar for one night only on Sunday 26th November (4pm-9pm). This takeover is the first time NoMad and Common Decency have come to Manchester, combining two multi-award-winning bar concepts for an evening of world-class drag performances and innovative cocktails.
NoMad London is the luxury hotel inside the historic, Grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates' Court and Police Station in Covent Garden. It’s currently ranked number 46 in the world’s best 50 hotels list. The ingredient-led culinary program includes venues NoMad Restaurant and Bar, Side Hustle, and The Library. NoMad originated in New York and NoMad London shares the same ethos, aiming to create an interplay between grand and intimate, classical and colloquial, moments of revelry and quiet meals that nourish the spirit.
Common Decency is one of three world class cocktail bars at NoMad London, located beneath the hotel. The name Common Decency honours its history as a nod to Oscar Wilde, who was tried for an affront of common decency at the Magistrates' Court. Leo Robitschek and Liana Oster show off their creative flair, drawing upon seasonality and community to inspire a menu of avant-garde cocktails, with modern whimsical twists.
The signature subterranean cocktail bar promises an evening of indulgence, featuring a butternut milk punch cocktail (bourbon, rum, lemon and vermouth) and ‘tziki do you love me (tequila, Greek yoghurt, lemon, artichoke, dill, mint, cucumber and sencha tea).
Sterling is located under the Stock Exchange hotel, hidden inside the old bank vault of Manchester Stock Exchange, from the team behind the award-winning Schofield’s Bar (Best bar in the UK 2022 and 2023) and Atomeca. Sterling boasts a varied menu of award-winning cocktails and wine, as well as live music and bar snacks. With so many cocktails to choose from, the evening is set to be one of a kind!
