This week (Wednesday 14th & Thursday 15th May), a two-day Pierogi Festival will be gracing the walls of the Great Northern with Polish restaurant, Platzki, serving up a number of unforgettable varieties of their legendary handmade pierogi.
Attendees will have the opportunity to try out seven different filling including the slow-cooked pork neck, the tender beef heart and, chicken & veg explosion as well as one dubbed 'Ukrainian Soul' if you're after a more classic & comforting take on the dumpling.
Vegetarians, don't worry, as the Pierogi Festival will also be serving up a lovely creamy spinach & feta variety alongside two dessert options like the sweet vanilla dessert pierogi as well as the 'Silky Curd Heaven' offering.
Great if you're dining on a budget too as pierogis will be priced at just £2.45 each, with a minimum of three per order.
The restaurant will be operating on a walk-in-only basis for the event but, given that the food fest regularly draws big crowds, it's definitely a good idea to get down early to secure the goods.
