Spring is in bloom, and along with it comes Mother’s Day. It’s the perfect time of year to celebrate that important person in your life. So, grab mothers, aunties, nans and everything in between for a bite out in Manchester.

The Refuge

Nestled in Kimpton Clocktower, The Refuge is serving up a fab meal out for mum this year. Experience their quote ‘legendary’ Sunday roast with a complimentary glass of fizz for all Mums dining in the restaurant. The spot itself is classy with a polished feel. It’s within the beautiful landmark that is the clocktower but combines these old features with comfy seating and low lights, giving a sleek atmosphere.

The Sunday dinner offering has plenty of options, including meat and vegetarian dishes. The Refuge also offers a sharing platter for £35 each, including slow-cooked rump of Lancashire beef, garlic & thyme-roasted Cumbrian chicken and Yorkshire porchetta (with all the trimmings).

Maya

If you have a cool mum who loves something a little different, look no further, as Maya may just be the spot for you! Maya is ‘three floors of cocktails, dining and disco’, so it's the ideal spot for having some fun. Not quite a dining deal, but definitely a great spot to treat the special someone in your life to a bev. This Mother’s Day, Frederico is offering a £15 wine flight complete with three glasses specifically chosen on a person-by-person basis.

Frederico is an Italian-inspired wine bar serving European wines, gorgeous cocktails, live jazz and a DJ. The spot itself is cosy and stylish, it has wooden seating and low lights, clearly bringing a piece of Italy to MCR.

Calling all fun mums, this is the spot for you! Here you’ll find fun shuffleboard games, food including small plates, burgers and pizza, and drinks ordered straight to the table. The restaurant itself is nothing short of photo-worthy with low lighting and calm neutral tones. Fenix is offering a new and exclusive dessert to honour mothers - the 'Mother of Pearl', which is an entirely edible black pearl. This Mother’s Day, Louis is celebrating the love, tradition and memories passed through generations in Italian kitchens. This spot brings a sense of Hollywood glamour to Manchester, with red and gold details, and seating around a stage which houses performers. In honour of the Head Chef’s mother, they are offering 'Mama’s carbonara'. If you’re looking for brunch rather than an evening out, Evelyn's is a great place to visit. It has a cool yet cosy feel with exposed brick, sofas and large windows.
