This weekend (21st December), the lovely lot over at Fallowfield's Platt Fields Market Garden are hosting a Yaldā Feast.
Taking place on the Winter Solstice, diners are invited to gather under their fairy-lit polytunnel and eat to their heart's content on some extremely tasty sharing platters.
This ancient Persian/Iranian tradition is a night when friends and family gather together to eat, drink and read poetry. Together, attendees can celebrate the coming of winter, renewal of the sun, victory of light over darkness, and eat some really lovely food.
Not only promising to have you leave with a full belly, the event will also see diners listen to and share poems alongside enjoying some live music from local Kurdish artists.
Saturday's menu features Kashke bandamjan (a popular Persian eggplant dip that consists of cooked and mashed eggplants, onions and garlic), beetroot humous bread, pomegranate rice, doinah stew, mushroom & almond kubbah, pickles and - to top it all off - baklava and custard.
Veggie, vegan and gluten-free options are all available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks also available to purchase.
The feast runs from 5pm to 8pm with tickets starting from £20.
