HERE at ToM we have a soft spot for Manchester Beer Week and for Burnage’s brilliant little craft beer bar Reasons To Be Cheerful. Combine the two for a special event promoting three of our finest new wave breweries (yes they have been coming in waves lately) and we are frothing at the mouth in anticipation.
This ‘Three To Watch in 2018’ tap takeover at RTBC on Wednesday, February 21 brings together Beatnikz Republic, Pomona Island and Wander Beyond (formerly Dan’s). The image above comes from the latter's Facebook page – we just like its hop-driven weirdness!
Set up by by Beer Week organiser Connor Murphy, it’s a kind of advance taster for the citywide festival, which will run from Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 8.
Tickets for 'Three To Watch' cost £19.45 and you get two samples from each brewer on the night plus an introduction to each beer.
We’d book early. RTBC is not the largest micro-bar in town – but possibly the most welcoming. Under the careful stewardship of Elena Rowe (above) and partner Andrew Munro it was shortlisted for Craft Beer Bar of the Year in the 2017 Manchester Food and Drink Awards and won Best New Bar in MBW’s own awards.
Reasons To Be Cheerful, 228 Fog Lane, Manchester M20 6EL. Wed Feb 21 7.30pm-10.30pm. Tickets £19.45. Buy them here.
