Tibetan Kitchen Open New Northern Quarter Venue in Buddhist Centre

7 March 2023 by Sam Easton

Momo lovers and veggie foodies alike rejoice, vegetarian café Tibetan Kitchen, have arrived in the Northern Quarter.

Having opened their doors last Friday, Tibetan Kitchen have situated themselves at their new location in the basement of the Buddhist Centre on Turner Street, which feels like an appropriate new home.

Created in 2006 by owners Sonny and Jane, the pair have bounced around from temporary pop ups to takeaways in South Manchester and more recently, all the way to Hebden Bridge all while gaining a cult following along the way.

Serving up a range of vibrant and warming traditional Tibetan and Himalayan style vegetarian dishes, the pair have taken a small section of the worlds cuisine and allowed it to thrive in the North West. They also pride themselves on their unique flavouring, created with a delicate balance of ginger, garlic and fresh herbs, while also spicing up some dishes with Tibetan pepper as well as fresh and dried chillies.

The positive comments are already rolling in with one customer saying: “Came in today, food was amazing, and the staff are just lovely. Thank you”

Whilst another eager visitor said “amazing!!! can’t wait to get some momos in town”

Their opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday 11-7pm so make sure to head down and give them a warm welcome.
