Any Onda fanatics out there gutted about the viral pasta pop-up completing their final service at The New Cross bar a few weeks back (24 March) will be chuffed to know they'll be opening the doors to their first proper restaurant just next month.
Yep, that means you'll be able to have all the fettuccine with garlic mussels, beef shin mafaldine, bucatini carbonara and famous tiramisu that your heart desires.
The new Onda spot will be nestled in the heart of Oxford Road at Circle Square, making neighbours with Federal, Mr Su and Hello Oriental.
Sharing the news to fans on Instagram, Onda revealed: "We originally found a site for our new restaurant at the end of 2023 but quickly and painfully found out this would cost way too much for us to move into, the site was an empty shell and would need extraction, kitchen fitting, all from scratch.
"There was no way to make that work. Then a couple of months ago, we found the perfect site for us which took until now to confirm was ours. The only catch was that we need to move into it much quicker than planned and that’s why we are having to close our pop-up now to get ready."
Well, summer sure has just got a whole lot better.
