Just a stone’s throw away from the city’s bustling streets, the waterside stretch of Salford Quays offers a feast for all the senses. Whether it is a flavour of the theatre, a taste of fine art or a foodie fix, this cultural corner has something to satisfy everyone’s appetite.

The Lowry Arts and Entertainment Centre boasts a calendar of live shows, theatre and exhibitions that have earned it acclaim as one of the Northwest’s top venues. Among the forthcoming performers set to take to the stage at the Lowry is American singing sensation Beth Nielsen Chapman and stars of the national comedy circuit Frank Sidebottom and John Cooper Clarke – who are being brought to the venue by ToM’s sister company the Taste of the Northwest.

Whether it is perusing the art galleries on a laid-back afternoon or enjoying a glitzy evening at the theatre, visitors to The Lowry can also combine their cultural experience with a culinary treat. Modern European classics such as Roast rack of lamb with crushed new potatoes, pea and mint puree, grilled vine tomatoes and balsamic shallot dressing and Pannacotta with apricot and ginger compote can be found at The Lowry Restaurant, while the Terrace Bar offers tasty dishes such as Roasted Mediterranean vegetables in a tomato and basil sauce with penne pasta and mozzarella cheese and Dark chocolate and caramel torte with mango puree.

Shopaholics are also catered for at Salford Quays with the Lowry Outlet Mall boasting more than 80 stores – with some offering up to 60 per cent discount off high street prices. And - as shopping is hungry work - the outlet also houses a variety of restaurants, including Pizza Express, Tandoori Delights and Lime, where shoppers can rest their feet and re-fuel.
