Trove opens its new bakery cafe in happening Ancoats

12 October 2018

WHERE do you find the real dough in Manchester? It has to be Ancoats, where acclaimed Levenshulme bakery Trove have just launched their second outlet, joining Companio on Radium Street and Pollen at Cotton Field Wharf to ensure that the city’s foodies neighbourhood will never run short of sourdough.

The Trove bakery/cafe in Sawmill Court on Murray Street joins the likes of Sugo Pasta Kitchen, Elnecot, Rudy's Pizza, The Jane Eyre bar, Seven Bro7hers, Nam and newly-opened Canto. Within a week the eagerly anticipated Mana will join the throng with Hip Hop Chip Shop aiming for an end of November opening.

Amazingly it’s seven years since Marcus and Katy Saide set up the original tiny Trove on Stockport Road, which has gone from strength to strength, culminating in winning Best Coffee Shop in the 2017 Manchester Food and Drink Awards.

The new premises with a towering open kitchen will offer them much more space to sell their baked goods and a seasonal brunch/lunch menu until 4pm. At the moment it’s cold food only, but that will change from Monday, October 15.

Come spring it will also encompass their new Erst room, plugged a ‘calm and contemporary space to socialise, drink some wine, have a beer on tap, and eat simple and seasonal UK-sourced food. Wine will be of a natural/organic persuasion, beers will be craft (both local and global), and cocktails will be cocktails.

Trove, 5 Murray St, Manchester M4 6HS, UK.
