Manchesters new Caribbean restaurant, Turtle Bay, celebrated a new partnership with the Caribbean Carnival of Manchester today as the team spent the day getting into the true, vibrant carnival spirit.
The restaurant, situated on Oxford Road, has become a sponsor of the citys legendary Caribbean Carnival, which will take place on Platt Fields Park from 19th 20th July. The partnership will involve sponsorship of a float in the parade, as well as sampling of Turtle Bays authentic menu on Platt Fields over the two-?day festival.
With that in mind some of the staff took a break from their intensive training today to dress up in the some of the astoundingly eye catching Caribbean Carnival costumes that will be on show at the event in July, all delivered to the restaurant by the events founder Mickey Bisson.
Ajith Jayawickrema, Turtle Bay Founder, commented: Manchesters Caribbean Carnival is one of the most legendary celebrations of Caribbean culture in the country. We were keen to support this important event which works hard each year to secure the necessary funding. It is fantastic to be able to team up to help spread the gospel of Caribbean cuisine in Manchester and launch our brand to the local Caribbean community in such a positive way. We look forward to a great partnership!
Juanita Anderson, Turtle Bay team member in costume for the event said Ive ALWAYS wanted to get involved in the parade and dress up in these amazing outfits so this is one tick of the bucket list for me. Looking forward to getting on that float!
Mike Bisson, President of the Caribbean Carnival of Manchester added: Its fabulous that Turtle Bay is embracing its new home in Manchester so wholeheartedly! We are always looking for new partners to support the Festival and this is one which makes lots of sense were excited that theres a bigger Caribbean food offering coming to town!
