Two exciting new local retailers are opening units at Deansgate Square

Following many other new operators that have started trading at Deansgate Square, the luxury Manchester development has announced two more local partners will be taking up units in the coming months.

Award-winning house plant supplier Flourish and popular health food and wellness café The Green Lab will be joining the likes of General Store Deansgate Square, Atomeca and Salvi's Italian Food Hub.

Family-run business Flourish has its roots in the flower industry going back over 30 years. Today it’s one of Manchester most popular plant outlets and its new 667 sq ft unit at Deansgate Square will become its fourth location.

Flourish’s owner Anthony Cox is excited about what he thinks his business will bring to the development. “After speaking with the team behind Deansgate Square, it became very clear that this development isn’t just about building more accommodation in Manchester city centre,” he said. “It’s about developing a whole new community and we can’t wait to be a part of it.

“The fact that Deansgate Square has chosen such well-loved Mancunian brands was a huge attraction. It’s fantastic that there will be a lot of people new to the city living in the towers and we’ll do our best to make sure they get to experience the best of what we do, right on their doorsteps.”

The Green Lab - founded by Manchester-based sisters Nikita and Kanika Banga - is a ‘lifestyle concept destination’ which opened its first store in May 2021 in the Northern Quarter. Their plan is to create a 2443 sq ft one-stop destination housing a café, as well as a health and well-being studio.

“We knew we wanted to expand and open more sites in Manchester, and then nationally,” says Nikita, “so when we saw the opportunity to open in Deansgate Square, it was something we didn’t even have to think twice about.

"The people that live in Deansgate Square – professionals of all ages, health-focused, families, people with busy lifestyles, people with flexi-work hours - are exactly who we want to be putting our products and services in front of.”

“We are overjoyed to be opening our second store here,” adds Kanika. “It will be bigger and better than the first - essentially The Green Lab with a twist. We have lots of new, exciting ideas so residents and locals alike should keep their eyes peeled.”

Both new stores promise to bring something that promotes a greener and more sustainable lifestyle and provides residents with what they need.

“Alongside the quality independent operators we have already secured, we believe Flourish and Green Lab will further enhance this carefully curated ground floor proposition,” says James Sidlow, Senior Development Manager at Renaker, the developers behind Deansgate Square, which comprises of 1,508 spacious apartments across four huge towers.

Deansgate Square offers another level of Manchester city centre living spanning 72,000 sq ft of residential amenity space including private pool, spa, gym and fitness studios and a sports hall as well as a Business Gallery and lounge spaces for residents to work, relax, dine or even game in a contemporary and design-led space.
