It’s been exciting watching Deansgate Square’s four huge tower blocks grow over the city centre and now Manchester’s premier development has revealed that two new restaurant and bar concepts will launch there over the coming weeks.
Coffee and brunch specialist, Mule, and forward-thinking bar, ATOMECA, will open their doors at the flagship scheme, forming an essential part of Deansgate Square’s hospitality offering.
Opening on 21st May, ATOMECA, a partnership with award-winning bartending duo Joe & Daniel Schofield and wine expert James Brandwood, will provide Manchester’s riverside square with its first ‘European Drinkery’.
Designed by award-winning Lister+Lister, the interior architects responsible for the main lobby space of Deansgate Square, ATOMECA will be an all-day venue, championing the best drink and food from the UK and continental Europe. Floor-to-ceiling windows will offer views onto the River Medlock, and there’ll be seating both indoor and out.
They will offer tea, coffee and locally baked pastries in the morning, and then tapas style plates in the evening and afternoon. ATOMECA will also offer an extensive wine list alongside the kind of carefully curated cocktails the Schofield boys have become known for.
“Daniel, James and myself are thrilled to be part of such an innovative and exciting development,” said Joe Schofield. “The vision and principles of Deansgate Square are very much shared with ATOMECA. A desire to provide excellent service in a warm and welcoming establishment.
The second exciting opening, occupying a soaring, double height space facing city, across The Medlock Steps, will be Mule at Deansgate Square. Following the success of it’s recent opening Mule Ancoats, this will become Manchester’s new favourite spot for a brunch date, mid-afternoon cake and late-night cocktails.
Mule and aims to open this summer with a menu featuring brunch classics such as buttermilk brioche chicken burger and cocktails ranging from the classic Mimosa to a Pistachio Mai Tai, in a light filled space designed to soak up the sunset.
“Mule at Deansgate Square is set to be the citys most vibrant spot with a timeless appeal,” said a spokesperson for Mule. “Using magical lighting, curved walls, woody aromas and eclectic fabrics, we’ve created a space that will transport you from the Manchester curbside into a dreamy Utah sunset.”
James Sidlow, Senior Development Manager at Renaker, commented: “Following the announcement of General Store joining us, we are delighted to welcome the next two operators at Deansgate Square. We admire the Mule team for their flair and creativity and ATOMECA for their attention to detail. We hope together they will bring all this and more to Deansgate Square, as we look to create a brand-new destination for residents, locals and visitors alike.”
Comprising 1,508 spacious apartments across four carefully designed towers, Deansgate Square boasts 72,000 sq ft of residential amenity space with exceptional health and wellness facilities, and the design-led Business Gallery and lounge spaces.
