HOT cakes never sold out as fast as IndyManBeerCon hot places. The precious tickets for this autumn’s 2016 craft beer gathering only went on sale at 9pm on Wednesday, June 15, but already the Friday evening and both Saturday sessions have sold out, the latter in under an hour.
TOM suggests that all you hopheads don’t hang around long to snap up Thursday, Friday daytime and Sunday slots. You can check times of all sessions and buy tickets via this link. http://www.indymanbeercon.co.uk/tickets/ There’s a total of 7,000 on offer across the four days at iconic venue The VIctoria Baths. A mere 30 per cent remain unsold.
The acclaimed celebration of the contemporary, progressive beer scene runs from Thursday, October 6, to Sunday, October 9. As always, it is organised by the team behind Common, Port Street Beer House and The Beagle (the latter two bars co-hosting Wednesday’s hectic ticket launch). The array of brewery sponsors announced this week is impressive: Beavertown, Brew By Numbers, Cloudwater, Fourpure, Northern Monk, Siren and Wild Beer. 50 other breweries will also be pouring their wares across the festival.
There’s also a chance for brewing ‘minnows’ to make their mark through a new initiative, The Thirsty Games. This aims to showcase and help the best up and coming UK brewers working out of a small facility (Sub 2bbl capacity) or who are operating on a cuckoo brewery basis.
Initial beer submissions must be received by Friday July 15. From the beers submitted, the IMBC team will pick their favourites and purchase 1-3 kegs from each qualifying brewer to pour on The Thirsty Games bar at the festival. At IMBC a public vote along with IMBC judges will determine the winner of The Thirsty Games 2016. To enter, visit the website www.indymanbeercon.co.uk
