TYGA: New fine-dining Indian restaurant to open on Peter Street this week

3 December 2025 by Rhiannon Ingle

TYGA, a fine-dining Indian restaurant, is set to open its doors this Friday (5th December) on Peter Street. Taking over the former restaurant space within Hotel Forty Seven, a location long associated with exceptional dining, TYGA aims to usher in a new chapter of refined Indian cuisine in the city centre.

The menu, crafted by Head Chef Rakesh Singh Rawat, blends reimagined Indian classics with bold, contemporary creations. Signature dishes include succulent Lamb Flamed Chops marinated in TYGA’s bespoke spice blend, the indulgent TYGA Lobster Majestic, and comforting favourites such as Butter Chicken and Chicken Korma simmered in a rich onion gravy. Vegetarian diners can enjoy standout plates like Paneer Lasagna Florentine and a regal, buttery Dal Makhani.

Desserts feature a seasonal flourish, with highlights such as Saffron Tiramisu Royale, a luxurious take on the classic crème brûlée, and a vegan-friendly Coconut Indulgence paired with refreshing coconut ice.

Designed with contemporary Indian aesthetics, the 90-cover restaurant combines warm textures and refined finishes to create a sophisticated dining ambience. The Laurent-Perrier Private Dining Room offers an elegant setting for celebrations, while the downstairs area houses a sleek cocktail lounge serving vibrant signature drinks such as the TYGA Old Fashioned, Masala Margherita, and TYGA in the Jungle, each blending Indian botanicals, spices, and street-food-inspired flavours.

TYGA’s bespoke wine list has been curated to complement the depth and complexity of Indian cuisine, while a dedicated Laurent-Perrier champagne selection adds a touch of elegance to every occasion.

Behind TYGA is a team with deep hospitality roots, led by Manchester-based entrepreneur Amar Seth and co-founder Devang Gohil, a veteran of more than 20 years in the industry.

Speaking about the launch, Amar said: "TYGA is a place to celebrate India’s rich culinary heritage in a stylish, modern setting. With Devang’s hospitality expertise and Rakesh’s experience in the kitchen, we’re bringing Manchester a new destination where food, drink and genuine connection come together."
