It's clear Manchester absolutely loves a hidden bar and the hype surrounding the latest addition to Northern Quarter's Thomas Street proves exactly that.
Taking over the old Socio Rehab site, the bar is nestled behind an internal unmarked door inside the newly-launched burger hotspot, Super Awesome Deluxe.
Simply go down the dimly-lit staircase and you'll find yourself in Ego Death which is all about leaving your problems behind you.
Complete with low-lighting, candlelit corners perfect to cosy up in and typical NQ exposed brick, Ego Death sure is shaping up to be the go-to place if you're after something nice to sip on while forgetting the chaos of the world going on above you.
Set to open on Friday (28th November), the cocktail menu creates an experience that’s 'equal parts refined and rebellious' featuring star-players like The Samantha, a Champagne Cosmo, which is an ode to Sex and the City's Samantha Jones.
You can also try out Ego Death’s exciting spin on a Pornstar Martini made with Grey Goose, melonade, apple and passionfruit clarified through vanilla ice cream.
Punters can also choose from a list of the top 50 classic cocktails which are available on request.
And if you're a fan of espresso martinis then you'll love the Pick Me Up - made with Jägermeister, Kahlua, miso barley, coffee and chocolate milk.
But don't worry if cocktails aren't your thing as the back bar is fully-stocked with a number of bourbon options and Champagne bottles.
Owner Cressida Lawlor, previously working at London Cocktail Club and Sexy Fish, said: "For over a decade, I’ve dreamed of a bar that’s more than a place to grab a drink - a place where every experience, for both guests and the team, leaves a mark.
"Some of the best memories of my life happened right in front of and behind a bar. It's here that connections form, moments are shared, and stories are told.
"Ego Death is soaked in champagne and bourbon, with cocktails that make you feel ready to take on the world and service that makes you never want to leave. It’s a new beginning for our industry, an experience built on trust and respect, where the team is united, and every guest is welcomed like one.
"When you take care of your team, they’ll take care of everyone else. This isn’t just a job; it’s a calling. Ego has no place in true hospitality, and we’re here to say goodbye to it for good. We’ve been through it all - the highs, the lows - and came out stronger, finding beauty even in the hardest times.
"Whether we’re in Manhattan or Manchester, what matters is that we’re here, in this moment, together. Cheers to new beginnings and a new kind of experience."
