Vermilion Grazing Menu – Asian fusion in miniature

SMALL is beautiful – and it’s the new way to explore the vivid range of dishes at Vermilion.

The glamorous north east Manchester restaurant has launched a Grazing Menu, allowing guests to taste cut-down portions, at affordable prices, of many of the Vermilion’s classic and creative plates from its innovative Thai-and-beyond repertoire.

Samples from the Grazing Menu include:

Rock Lobster Stir fried with black pepper sauce, perfumed with truffle oil. A unique and delicate combination, it costs £19.50 on the a la carte. The Grazing Menu version is just £6.95.

Lamb Massaman A classic Thai dish originating from the south, slowly braised diced lamb in a medium spicy rich gentle sauce. Chef's and many footballer's personal favorite dish, it costs £15.50 on the a la carte, only £5.95 from the Grazing Menu.

Or try Thai Papaya Salad (£3.75) a spicy and sour salad served with cherry tomatoes, yardlong beans, the equally healthy and refreshing Thai Mango Salad (£3.25) or the sweet and tangy Thai Cucumber Salad (£2.50) with roasted cashew nuts.

Seafood features heavily, too, sourced from Vermilion’s specialist parent import company. Enjoy Hoy Shell (£4.50) – pan fried scallop with black pepper and garlic butter, the fragrant mussel gratin Hoy Malang Phu (£3.95).

More main dish like fare showcases in miniature four of Vermilion’s best-loved dishes.

Seabass kapong (£6.25)  – pan fried seabass served with  young ginger, shiitake mushroom in a rich, aromatic sauce. Chicken Prik Thai (£5.50) – grilled soft chicken supreme cooked in fresh herbs. Duck Ped Yang (£5.75) – Barbary duck prepared with a red curry sauce, served with juicy grapes, pineapple , cherry tomatoes and Thai sweet basil. Nue Phad Prik (£5.50) – Stir fried sliced beef with chilli, red and green capsicums, rhizome and green aromatic peppercorn.

The Grazing Menu is available at lunch, 12pm-2.30pm, Monday to Friday and in the evenings 6pm-10.30pm, Sunday to Friday (excludes Saturday). The various set banquets, a la carte and  Sunday Brunch Buffet options remain in place.
