IT’S good to see restaurants more associated with a cracking Sunday roast doing their bit for National Vegetarian Week 2015 (May 18-24). Step forward Damson Media City and West Didsbury’s Volta.
Damson are offering a special six course veggie menu for just £30 a head. For this you get veloute of English asparagus & watercress; marinated Tremain Farm feta cheese, compressed watermelon and pickled rind, rum spiced granola; poached Lancashire leeks, crispy quail egg, “mimosa” dressing; warm salad of St Georges mushroom, goat’s curd, Jersey Royals, wild garlic and hazelnut; crème fraiche tart, English strawberries and raspberries; selection of cheeses.
Tables must book in advance with the whole table required to have a tasting menu.
Call 0161 751 7020 to book or email [email protected]
Meanwhile, some of the increasing number of vegetarian specials at Volta are now becoming permanent fixtures on the menu – among them grilled artichoke with asparagus, yellow squash, lemon and almond as well as red chicory with orange, pomegrante and ricotta. Look out for their National Vegetarian Week specials.
