Want the chance to win some incredible prizes while donating to a worthy local cause? Non-profit and social enterprise Eat Well MCR has launched their annual fundraising raffle in partnership with the Manchester Food and Drink Festival – and there are some incredible prizes up for grabs.

Recent events have meant that the Manchester Food and Drink Festival ends a week later than originally planned – giving people another week to buy tickets! The winning tickets will be drawn on October 3rd.

Tickets for the raffle are £10 each and offer the chance to get your hands on one of 19 fantastic prizes, including dinner, drinks and a stay in Manchester’s most talked about soon-to-open hotel - the Treehouse.

Prizes also include:

  • Tickets for two people at Bluedot Festival
  • £100 to spend on food and drink at Ramona or Firehouse
  • Full menu for two at Flawd including a glass of sparkling wine
  • £120 to spend on food and drink at Hello Oriental
  • A cooking course at Food Sorcery
  • £100 Voucher to spend on food and drink at Escape to Freight Island
  • A lifetime skate pass at Freight Island
  • £100 to spend at Elnecot
  • Dinner for two at Sam’s Chophouse

Eat Well MCR is a collective of Manchester-based chefs that provide meals to people living in challenging circumstances. The social enterprise was founded by Manchester chef and restaurateur Mary-Ellen McTague in April 2020 in response to the pandemic. Mary-Ellen McTague is joined on the board by arts and events producer Gemma Saunders, and marketing consultant Kathleen O’Connor, alongside Tampopo founder David Fox, Cloudwater’s Paul Jones, Honest Crust’s Rich Carver and Manchester International Festival co-founder and cultural powerhouse Christine Cort.

“We’re so grateful to the people that have donated prizes, it’s a brilliant list!” says Mary Ellen. “Eat Well MCR is self-funded, rather than government funded, so fundraising activities like the raffle are essential for our survival.”

Eat Well MCR partners with grassroots organisations, delivering meals to families experiencing homelessness, women taking refuge in sheltered accommodation, parents of children staying in hospital, food banks, and schools supporting families affected by food poverty.

They have now provided 70,000 meals across Greater Manchester and are now raising funds to hit the next milestone: 100,000 meals.
