Win the perfect foodie Christmas present – the Manchester Cook Book

2 December 2015

A Christmas pressie for the Manc foodie in your life? Look no further than The Manchester Cook Book, out now. Like the city itself, this recipe compendium is a unique melting pot of dining options, from the casual to the super-luxe.

Manchester House’s Aiden Byrne (pictured above) has written the foreword and contributed a sumptuous dish you might not cook every day, Mallard Baked in Hay, but some of the 54 recipes in this 224 page full colour volume feature simple cakes and comfort food. Just the kind of thing you’d want to rustle up when the festive season fades into glum old January! It’s a good read, to, with a wealth of culinary anecdotes from top names.

The handsome hardback, published by Meze, costs £14.95 in bookshops and at the participating restaurants, cafes, delis, pubs, producers and suppliers across Greater Manchester. Participants include star destinations such as Iberica, 63 Degrees, Mr Cooper's, Harvey Nichols and the Victorian Chop Houses.

Taste of Manchester has three copies to give away. You could have one for free simply by emailing your name and address to [email protected]. Closing date for the competition is 12 noon on Thursday, December 10.
