YES welcomes new Bowie-themed street food pop-up offering 50% off every Sunday

31 July 2023

Manchester’s five-storey bar, kitchen and live music venue YES has welcomed yet another budget-friendly street food pop-up, We Can Be Gyros.

The Bowie-themed Greek restaurant offers a selection of grills, pitta bread, wraps and platters Monday – Sunday, with an additional 50% off when dining on the last day of the week.

We Can Be Gyros joins popular Neapolitan pizza specialists Pepperoni Playboy at YES, who already offer a menu of half price slices from 12-6pm every day of the week.

We Can Be Gyros’ menu features the Live.Lamb.Love kebab, a classic option of lamb or beef kofta served atop a grilled pitta with seasoned fries, honey mustard sauce, tomato, pickled red onion, scotch bonnet mayo sauce and pickled red cabbage.

There’s also The OG, which comes with spicy chicken wrapped up in honey mustard sauce, seasoned fries, tomato, red onion, crumbled feta cheese and smoked garlic aioli. Karen From Accounts combines golden halloumi with deep fried courgette ribbon, seasoned fries, tomato, pickled chillies, zesty sour cream and Korean BBQ sauce.

Additionally, We Can Be Gyros offers a plant-based Lady Stardust, a combination of vegan chick’n gyros, seasoned fries, tomato, rainbow coleslaw, pickled red onion, and sriracha vegan mayo.

If you’re heading down to YES with a few pals, the pop-up has two sharing platter options made to be enjoyed over a few pints. Double up on your chicken gyros with The OG Overloaded (chicken gyros, seasoned fries, rainbow slaw, crumbled feta, honey mustard, smoked aioli sauce), or enjoy The Cosmos (vegan chick’n gyros, seasoned fries, tomato, rainbow coleslaw, pickled red onion, and sriracha vegan mayo).

From 12-3pm, guests can choose from any of the four gyros options and seasoned skin of fries for £8.95. Those dining from 3pm can enjoy the deal for just £10.95.

A cocktail is essential to guzzle down a gyros, and diners can choose from a range of classic summer tipples at YES such as an Aperol Spritz, Hugo Spritz, Mai Tai, and Long Island Iced Tea. Also joining the menu for summer is the Pink Negroni (cherry gin, lillet rose vermouth, campari), Pomegranate Margarita (tequila, pomegranate liqueur, citrus), and B.C Vimto (vanilla vodka, cassis liqueur, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and soda).

All new cocktails are 2 for £10 from 12-8pm Tuesday - Saturday, and all-day Sunday - Monday.

YES is open from midday to late every day, and until 4am at the weekends with the food served daily from noon till late.
