OCCASIONALLY one of those desperate PR stunts chains indulge in takes our fancy – especially when it hooks itself on topicality. So let’s all scrum down for Propsticks, giant eating tools from YO!
Ww wondered if that was just a media gimmick when the Japanese fast food chain intimated it might phase out its trademark sushi conveyor belts from selected places (reportedly Manchester Piccadilly Station was one), but we’re on safer ground with this offer available at selected venues until Saturday November 2. Which coincidentally is the day of the Rugby World Cup Final.
Oversized hands (as is the case with prop forwards) is the reasoning behind these double size, broader chopsticks. Head of customer experience Charlotte Whalley told ToM (all of whose team are delicate of digit): “YO! is always on a mission to make Japanese food available to everyone. With the rugby tournament taking place we saw an opportunity that YO! could improve on. We’re hoping that our Propsticks will allow rugby players and those with slightly larger hands, to enjoy sushi without any struggle.”
They are only available at selected venues. Head down to the YO! outlet in the Trafford centre Selfridges and ask a member of staff for your free pair (available on a first come, first served basis).
