A UNIQUE part of the major refurb at Waxy O’Connor’s is the trial run of the Ripple Maker with Guinness. The Printworks’ own little corner of Ireland is the only pub in the UK to boat this innovative beverage-top media device by Ripples™, that uses 100 per cent natural extracts to print any message or high-resolution image on foam-topped drinks.
That means you gets to see your own head staring back from the creamy head in front of you – an experience only granted to stout aficionados before at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.
Amazingly the Manchester Waxy’s has been open for nearly 18 years opposite Victoria Station. The venue has a warren of several bars and nine different areas spread across three levels. All devoted to the Craic, as they say.
The bar’s GM Dave Molloy told us: “This new machine enables a photograph to be produced onto the froth in a pint of Guinness or indeed an Irish coffee if you fancy that too. So far logos and customer selfies are proving popular with many people opting for different designs on each pint.
Waxy O’Connor’s is inviting people to experience the new device for themselves and also to learn about how to pour the perfect pint with experts from the master brewer on Thursday October 24 at 6.30pm. The Guinness experience includes information about the beer’s heritage, the Arthur Guinness Story, a quiz, Hop House 13 Sampling, a cellar tour and a master class in Perfect Pint Pouring. An in-house beef and Guinness Stew will be served to guests. They will also have the chance to use the Ripple Maker PM for themselves.
This first event is invitation only but you can enter to win two places for it by following Waxy’s social media channels. Stay updated on this or pre-register for a Guinness event here.
