Located next to Manchester Cathedral, this relative newcomer from the team behind Teacup and Most Haunted presenter, Yvette Fielding, is a big old space, that, somewhat fittingly brings to mind a Women's Institute meeting. You can imagine everyone huddled around over cakes and brews under the tent-like arching ceiling. The ceiling is a nice touch too, as tea rooms are typically places that people gather to enjoy a catch up - so this is perfect for diffusing the sound. There also appears to be plenty of room for prams too. Checked floor tiles, school room furniture - and more - gives the impression of a calm, soothing space. The perfect environment to chill out and sample one of a number of, it has to be said, quite pricey teas (up to £4.20 for an Indian chai with honey), scones (cream tea is only £4.90) and sandwiches. We like the sound of classic thick cut ham( £4).
