Get the New year off to a great healthy start with Pita Pit's low-cal low fat delights

19 January 2015

NEW Year, New You? Yes we’ve heard all the good intentions before. Like, the same time last year. All those plans to eat more healthily get put on the backburner when it’s back to work with all the hectic commuting and committing that entails.

Still, there’s no reason why a snatched breakfast or lunch hast to be a heart-buster or calorie blitz. Here’s where Pita Pit fits the bill – the perfect place to refuel heathily en route  to your workplace or grabbing a quick lunch.

Strategically placed two minutes’ walk from Piccadilly’s bustling rail and Metrolink stations and open from 7am weekdays, it offers a complete range of filled pita options – and much more – to eat in or take away. They’ll even deliver to your workplace!

Their menu details the calories on each combo, helping you to keep your waist in check without sacrificing taste. Take grilled steak, chicken or tuna toppings on wholemeal pita – all under 350 calories plus containing just 4.2 grams of fat (and minimal salt). And even when you add a flavour burst via a savoury or sweet sauce you are not ratcheting up the calories (sweet chilli sauce 35 a pot, tzatziki 32 and BBQ chipotle just 28). salads weigh in even less, of course.

TOM would recommend for a real New Year detox feel Pita’s Pits Grilled Veg Pita, featuring courgette and onion with cos lettuce, feta cheese, olives and sweet chilli sauce. Add on extra veg of your choice or even, if you are seriously watching those pounds, downsize to a Petita.

Pita Pit are nothing if nor thorough in their commitment to healthy fodder. They even provide a download on their website detailing full nutritional information on each dish.

Pita Pit is a rapidly expanding, healthy, quick service global restaurant franchise that was founded in Canada in 1995 with the goal of offering quality, healthy, fresh food fast in an informal atmosphere. In Manchester they have chosen an airy, funky space in one of the city’s happening developments. And look out this spring for the opening of a new branch on Deansgate.
