After working in hotels, restaurants, and local street kitchens, 'Buzzrock' moved from Jamaica to Manchester in 1976 aged 27. In the early 1990’s he started operating from a small trailer at events such as Glastonbury, Womad and Notting Hill Carnival. This lead to Buzzrock restaurants and fast food opening in Prestwich, Moston and Hulme.
Rice'n'peas are part of the Caribbean line up alongside excellent patties, dumplings and fried plantain. Buzzrocks' authentic Caribbean food is marinated and cooked with their own recipe special seasonings, gravies, sauces, and spice blends. All meats are halal and they don't serve pork as Buzzrocks is a Rastafarian.
There's a cheaper take out menu for snacks as well as proper meals such as curry goat, ackee salt fish and chicken stewed in signature gravy. Lunchtime might be the best time to visit, as they've often sold out of many items by 5pm.
