The first Cocoa Cabana opened in West Didsbury in 2012 and was so successful, the chocolatier and cake shop launched a second venue in Ancoats in 2019. As soon as you walk in you can see all the brightly coloured cakes and bakes lined up on the marble counter top. An enormous floral mural, pretty velvet furniture, draping plants, gold shelving and pink neon slogans all make a great instagrammable backdrop. The chocolatier, tearoom and cocktail bar can also be privately hired for special events like weddings, baby showers and parties.
Open from 10am for brunch (regular or bottomless) they also serve a selection of topped potato cakes and filled baguettes, wraps or salads for lunch. Chocolate lovers must try the special chocolate afternoon tea which features scones, chocolate truffles, chocolate tart homemade brownie, savouries and more. There’s also a children’s version.
Although they serve coffee, tea and milkshakes they specialise in hot chocolate here from the Cocoa Cabana classic to variations flavoured with anything from peanut butter to white berry warmer and chocolate orange.
In the evening, Cocoa Cabana Ancoats is open for a selection of indulgent cocktails along with wines and spirits. Experiences such as cocktail making classes, tasting nights and chocolate making classes are also available for parties, occasions and corporate events.
