There's an episode of cult TV show Portlandia which includes a sketch all about how people in Portland make cafes, cups, bags and clothes desireable to hipsters by putting a bird on it. Fig and Sparrow has birds and thus hipsters all over it, but dont let that put you off what's an exceptional flat white.
This independent Northern Quarter coffee shop opened in 2013 but was taken over by sisters Laura and Hannah in 2020. The pandemic has meant that the new owners haven't yet been able to hit their stride and are operating at the time of writing within shorter opening hours.
Fig & Sparrow is still a top notch place to pop in for a well made coffee or loose leaf tea if you're in the area.
