Located on Withington high street, Fuel is long time veggie favourite. Everything about it oozes mid-1990s chic, but dont let that put you off as the atmosphere and vibe of this cosy, woody restaurant and café bar, complete with performance space upstairs couldnt be more convivial, thanks in no small part to its loyal, friendly clientele. If you like your breakfast large for under £6 (we also like the spicy tomato, egg and pepper-based dish, shakshouka) this is the place to come. Never short of excellent value, options include a huge mezze platter for £9 with falafels, hand cut chips, all the trimmings and a bargain bottle of wine on the side for £12 as well as mains like lentil casserole, falafel burgers, quorn chicken fajitas and vegetarian fish and chips with mushy peas. A lively and busy place for a bite.
