Tucked away on Ridgefield, in between King Street and Deansgate, you'll find La Bandera. The name translates as 'the flag' in Spanish and the restaurant represents the kind of fresh, simple and delicious food you might find all over Spain, including that of the Canary Islands where the owner is from.
The light atmosphere and bright yellow seating will get you in the mood for a delicious selection of tapas including house speciality Croquetas de Chipirón - La Bandera's squid ink croquettes and meatballs made from grandma's own recipe. You also have to order Papas Arrugadas - Canarian "wrinkled" potatoes with which you use to scoop up a hearty slick of Mojo Rojo and Mojo Verde sauces. Just make sure you save room for pudding.
