Not far from the city centre, the New Oxford, wears its beery credentials on its sleeve, with one of the lounge bars almost entirely covered in guest beer pump clips. Expect perfect pints and extremely good value food in the recently gentrified Bexley Square off Chapel Street. Pub classics like chilli, egg or omelette and chips or toasted sandwiches all come in at under £6. House beers are from Phoenix but with 18 pumps to choose from you are spoilt for choice. Favoured breweries include Hornbeam, Yorkshire's Acorn, Mallinsons, Boltons Bank Top, Bowland and Moorhouses. The venue also won the North Manchester Cider Award (2014) as well as CAMRA awards for cider and beer in 2012.
