Red Chilli

70-72 Portland Street

China Town

M1 4GU

Regarded by national and local food writers as the best Szechuan restaurant in Manchester, both of Red Chilli’s spacious restaurants are worth a visit, especially at lunchtime. Starters could include Beijing hot and sour soup or chicken corn soup, dim sum (salt and pepper spare ribs, spring roll, spring onion fried bread and seaweed) and mains - served with boiled or fried rice - are based on king prawns, fillet steak, duck, beef, chicken, pork, lamb, mixed vegetables and chicken. The restaurant is best known for imaginative takes on offal with lung, brain, stomach and more getting a look in - and seafood. Try any of the fish hot pots, or whole fish dishes not to mention some very spicy ways with eel.
