Roost is a very different beast to the former occupant - fine dining mecca Damson. Owner Steve Pilling wanted to go in a completely different direction so Roost is a much more contemporary offering, serving up a range of wood-fired pizza and whole or half Goosnargh chickens (hence the name) from its rotisserie. You’ll also find half a dozen different burgers, sides and specials on the food menu, making it ideal for families with a range of different tastes.
Liquid accompaniment of choice is craft beer (which the Heaton’s has become a hotspot for) but there are also cool cocktails, delicious wines and mighty milkshakes topped with whipped cream on offer.
On Sundays you can enjoy a Roost roast – chicken of course – with potatoes, gravy, seasonal veg and Yorkshire pudding.
The model is successful enough for them to be opening a second Roost in Wilmslow soon.
