Whitefield's unique third generation family business has been utterly devoted to chocolate and baking since 1976.
The chocolatier and patisserie is housed in a three storey red brick HQ. The ground floor has been taken over by a display of amazing novelty, celebration and wedding cakes, macaron towers and profiterole pyramids as well as a shop selling all manner of filled and moulded chocolates, baked products and gift items.
Slattery's first floor bakery is where it all started. Bread is baked fresh every day for the cafe, the ground floor shop and for wholesale customers. It is also used in The Masons dining room and for outside catering.
The 140 seater cafe offers breakfast, lunches, afternoon tea, and sweet treats - including a range of very indulgent hot chocolates.
Serious chocoholics might be interested in taking on the Slattery's chocolate challenge - if you manage to eat a large portion of their warm American chocolate fudge cake, homemade chocolate ice cream, fresh cream and two pots of chocolate sauce and wash it down with a glass of hot chocolate, you will be rewarded with a chocolate medal and 100g of hand made chocolates.
If you're keen to learn more, also situated in the building is the Slattery school of excellence which offers a range of classes to help you master the arts of sugar craft, chocolate and patisserie.
