Those in the know don’t recommended many haunts on Rusholme’s Curry Mile as places to eat as the cooking can be below par. But Spicy Hut stands out for offering some genuine Indian and Pakistani favourites –with plenty to charm the western palate too. Nothing about the décor stands out, it’s the award-decked cooking team that does the business. Go for sizzling shashliks (kebabs, flash-flambeed tableside), puris (stuffed pancakes – esp the chana/chickpea one) - or house specials like honey-rich Lamb Mirchi Charm with an Indian beer or fresh mango lassi on the side. The brave will be richly rewarded with an authentic and softly spiced vindaloo.
