The Pen and Pencil bar, on the corner with Hilton Street, takes its name and inspiration from the infamous mid-20th Century bar on East 45th Street, which was popular with newspaper journalists and ad men – the original ‘Mad Men’.
Open seven days a week from 10am until late with a focus on a strong daytime offering with top quality coffee, an American-influenced brunch menu that includes pancakes with buttermilk and blueberries, bourbon syrup and streaky bacon. Small plates and globally-inspired mains feature at weekends.
The cocktail list, created in-house, features Beer in the Bronx with gin, IPA syrup, pink grapefruit juice, sweet & dry vermouth and Cucumber & Sake Martini with cucumber, vodka, sake, sugar.
