Try side-by-side axe throwing in a fun, competitive environment in the heart of the city. Sessions take place under highly controlled (but still fun) conditions. Axes are only ever thrown down empty, enclosed lanes under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor who will be on hand to talk you through the best throwing techniques in your own netted lane. Rigorous testing means axes and flooring have both been designed to reduce any unwanted bounces and safety is their highest priority.
Longtime friends John Nimmons and Jools Whitehorn have backgrounds in the travel industry and media respectively. Having witnessed the boom in social competitive activities they dipped their toe in the water and successfully ran Battle Bows and Bubble Football for a number of years. Wanting to create an experience with an edge, they were inspired to create the UK’s first urban axe throwing venue.
Sessions are 60 minutes long and are designed for first-timers, so anyone can give it a go. Each lane consists of 2 targets, an instructor and up to 8 players.
During the session you’ll receive a safety brief, learn how to throw an axe, take part in a tournament and learn some trick shots. You could even try throwing two axes at once.
There’s a fully licensed bar with beers, ciders and bar snacks available.
A few common sense rules have been applied such as avoid wearing flip flips or heels, you can’t bring your own axe, dogs are not allowed and neither are spectators. Only axe throwers. No entry for under 18s.
