Gary Neville – is he a bit flash with a pan? Find out tonight

11 September 2014

GARY Neville’s good at opening his mouth as a pundit, most recently criticising his old club, Manchester United for offloading fellow local lad Danny Welbeck, but it is he any good at filling other folk’s mouths?

We may find out on today (September 26), when he takes part in a live cook-off at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

Gary is taking to the stage ahead of the pre-Christmas opening of his and Ryan Giggs' latest project, Hotel Football, appropriately enough opposite Old Trafford where the pair played together for so many years.

On the night Gary will be joined by the hotel's executive chef, Brendan Fyldes, and creative director, two-star Michelin chef, Michael Wignall. Gary, Brendan and Michael will demonstrate signature dishes from the hotel's restaurant, Café Football, and attendees will be able to try some of the culinary delights for themselves.

Signature dishes will include The Boss Burger and Café Football Sausage Roll, a sausage roll which restaurant critic Jay Rayner described as "shockingly good".

MFDF Hub, Albert Square M2 FDB. Friday, September 26. 5.30pm Tickets £7. Buy them here.
