Chorlton dining pub The Beagle gets a Mex-y new menu

1 April 2014

If you're as much of a fan of Chorlton's The Beagle pub as we are, you'll be delighted to hear that, after a number of outside alliances, The Beagle has come up with a new menu in house. Expect deep south-meets-Mex grub of all persuasions with light options like stuffed jalapenos, spicy popcorn, chargrilled corn on the cob, chicken wings and a prawn cocktail-remix in the shape of  popcorn shrimp salad. Those looking for a serious feed can tackle buttermilk 'homeslice' chicken, dripping in sauces and served with slaw and fries (for £10, in a bucket) or in a brioche bun. There are nachos stacked with veg (£10) and meat (£12), a big beef brisket chilli (£11 - if the one served at sister bar Common in the Northern Quarter is anything to go by, this will be a smash), burgers, lively tacos and more. Beers on draught and by the bottle remain a huge draw in this relaxed, urban drawing room with funky artwork and a friendly vibe. Watch this space for a full review soon.

The Beagle, 458 Barlow Moor Road, M21 0BQ. Tel: 0161 881 8596, www.beaglesabout.com
