Don’t spare the cheese – Why we’re fond of the ‘Fondue’ at Honest Burgers

10 February 2020

IT may be the next big thing to booking a culinary ski trip – with minimal chance of coming home in plaster. The Fondue is a seasonal treat from Honest Burgers, which takes away all that communal cheese dipping by introducing five Alpine cheeses for their classic Honest beef patty in a bun for a cheesy oozefest.

Those five cheeses, Comté, Beaufort, Vacherin Fribourgeois, Abondance and Emmental, come courtesy of London-based Swiss cheesemonger Herve Mons. You might have chanced upon his enticing outlet at Borough Market.

The rest of the Fondue burger combo consists of garlic and white wine, the chees dolloped onto the patty with crispy pancetta, white wine onions, rocket and pickles. It will be off the menu well before the snows start to melt – March 2, in fact – so make haste.

Honest Burgers, 36 Bridge Street, Manchester M3 3BT. 0161 359 4039.
