Those wandering down Oxford Street hoping for a burrito fix don’t need to lament the passing of TexMex favourite Chilango too much.
Following its acquisition of Chilango in May 2022, the UK’s largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand, Tortilla, has announced it will be rebranding of Manchester’s Chilango site at 50 Oxford Street. The Chilango site will be updated withthe Tortilla fascia over the coming weeks, reflecting the expansion of the Tortilla brand which now takes the group’s UK-owned site number to 56. The brand serves more than 5 million customers every year.
Seating up to 68 people, Manchester’s Tortilla restaurant reopens on Tuesday 27th September for eat-in, takeaway and delivery, following a successful delivery kitchen trial in the city.
“We are hugely excited to be rolling out the Tortilla brand into Manchester, with the previous Chilango site occupying a great location in the city centre,” says Jason Thomas, Tortilla’s Chief Operations Officer.
“This will provide locals and visitors with great-value, delicious options for lunch or dinner. We look forward to welcoming plenty of happy customers into store and continuing to play the Group’s part in this thriving community.”
